First, it’s a good idea always to take a walk around your neighborhood and really see what other people are using, what types of color they are choosing. Because typically there is a uniformity that you find in other peoples homes in your neighborhood. Second it’s always another great idea to browse their magazines. Look for magazines, come to the paint store, pick-up some brochures they have pre-made brochures all the different companies have them made. And they give you for example this one is exterior expressions by Benjamin Moore. You can browse through this and see various types of home styles that give you different kinds of shades on different colors, they pick from nature there’s a lot of color psychology that goes into the choosing really of a paint color of your home. So when you look at the different themes, then you can see how they are applied that will also help as far as choosing an exterior paint color. Next it’s always a great idea to come to your local paint store and pick-up some samples of paint. They’re very inexpensive; they’re probably 3 to 4 Dollars a bottle. You can bring them home; you can apply them on your home and then take a step back and look at it to the various times of the day. For example if you are looking at it in the morning it looks much different in the morning than when the sun has peaked and is now in the afternoon. So that’s why I always suggest with my clients.
